Beer: The Condiment With An Attitude!

NATIONAL BOYCOTT OF MILLER BEGINS; OVER 200 RELIGIOUS GROUPS CONTACTED

Posted by Bob Skilnik on September 27, 2007

Catholic League president Bill Donohue announced a national boycott of Miller Beer on this morning’s “Fox and Friends.” He explains why today:

“Never have we experienced greater corporate arrogance than in this dispute with the Miller Brewing Company. Miller is sponsoring an incredibly outrageous and palpably anti-Christian event in San Francisco: the Folsom Street Fair (see its website at folsomstreetfair.com and be prepared to see the shocking photos of what goes on). Be sure to access our website at catholicleague.org to see the pictures not only of the fair, but of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an anti-Catholic group that is holding a mock Last Supper dinner tonight in San Francisco. The Sisters is one of the organizations that is receiving funding from this Miller-sponsored event.

“This all started when we learned that Miller was sponsoring an event that featured an obscene ad thrashing the Last Supper. After being pressured, Miller offered a lame statement of regret and said it was pulling its logo from the ad. Not only has it not done so—it is still posted on the website of the street fair—Miller refuses to withdraw its sponsorship. To top it off, when we informed them that some of the money being raised at this festival was being funneled to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, they were unimpressed.

“Accordingly, Miller leaves us with no options: we are calling on more than 200 Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu organizations to join with us in a nationwide boycott of Miller beer…”

“Apparently, Miller has decided to side with a small band of depraved and bigoted gays against Catholics (25 percent of the population) and Protestants (60 percent of the nation). This is an ethical and marketing fiasco of colossal proportions. I will announce within the next day exactly what our game plan will be. The collision course that Miller wants with Christians is now on.”

  1. And not everyone likes to have their bare ass whipped in front of Village People knock-offs.

Lol. That’s alot of Gays. 🙂

But to be honest, I fail to see how the event is “Anti-Christian”. Un-Christian, sure, but “Anti”?
I could have missed something, but for the most part it just looks like a big fetish festival populated mostly by homosexuals. Considering the location, this isn’t surprising.

You’ve got to give them some credit. They certainly are comfortable in their own skin. There is no way I would have the self esteem to wear that little in public.

First let me say that I am for free speech and such, but Miller should have looked at this logically but then again we don’t know if this will catch on and do any real damage to them. In short when you are trying to sell beer wouldn’t you kind of get on board why would you do something to hurt business it is not like they are a political organization.

Love thy Neighbor as Thyself. That doesn’t mean only if he or she is a Christian that thinks, or acts or dresses the same way you do.

    Good for Coors.

    And Miller too lol

  6. For all of you “Hey! Let them have their fun” responses, need I remind you that California taxpayers are being forced to help foot the bill for the Folsom Street Fair. The City of San Francisco sanctions the event, shuts down several city blocks and provides police for security while banning ROTC units from filming commercials in the same San Fran city streets. Next time a major natural catastrophe takes place in the city, call out the queers and transgenders to administer assistance and don’t bother turning to the police, National Guard or locally-based military units for help.

Now for all you European socialists who have posted here, I have seen other cultures, having lived in Europe for close to 4 years while on assignments in Europe and the Mid-East. I was there making sure the Soviet Union didn’t come over your borders so you could have your contemporary drug districts, your houses of prostitution and your 35 work weeks—along with 4 and 5 week vacations, while your Boy Scout-sized military units were supposed to give you protection from foreign invaders. You realize, however, that if the Soviets and their satellite states had come to “liberate” your countries, you peace-loving and socially-liberated types would have been the first people to “disappear.”

My in-laws are from the Baltic States, my wife is Lithuanian and her parents suffered the travesties of World War II. Why? Because of a complacent 1930s European populace. While your leaders were taking weekends in the country, Hitler was taking countries in the weekend. And now its the Muslims who are killing your citizens in the streets, your streets. And what are you going to do, hold “meaningful” discussions with them? That’s how most of you fell under Nazi occupation.

While you folks seem to enjoy paying ridiculous amounts of money to your socialist states, I prefer to keep my money in my pocket. I earned it and don’t feel the compelling need to throw it around to protect simulated acts of sex, whippings, and bare-assed nudism in my neighborhood.

In the meantime, what you all seem to be missing here is the hypocrisy of allowing the debasement of Catholic/Christian beliefs in the streets of the U.S. while being in fear for your lives in Europe because one of your citizens “offended” some crazy mullah who has called for a fatwah for the silliest of reasons.
    **************
And finally, the real reason I began this series of postings…Keep politics out of beer. Coors went right-wing and pissed off a portion of its customers. Anheuser-Busch has decided to throw money at MALDEF, a radical Mexican organization that wants all Americans of European ancestry to get back on a boat and head east on the Atlantic, and now it’s Miller, who has been involved in the sponsorship of a number of homosexual events that have turned heads (no pun intended) in the past.

    I’m going back to homebrewing.
